POLICE DEPARTMENT INCREASING RIVER PATROLS

Ripon CA: The Ripon Police Department will be increasing patrols along the StanislausRiver within the city limits of Ripon. Illegal camp fires, trash dumping, an increase in alcohol use and an increase in vandalism and gang activity along the river has prompted the department to increase patrols of this unique riparian forest area.

Department spokesperson, First Sgt. Steve Merchant said officers patrolling the riverine areas of Ripon will be taking a “Zero-Tolerance” approach to all crimes big and small. These enforcement issues include drug and alcohol use, illegal camp fires, trash dumping, gang activity and vandalism issues.
