VOLUNTEERS IN POLICE SERVICE

DONATION CHALLENGE

Ripon, CA – Last week, the Ripon Police Department Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS) donated $500 to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). Officer Stephen Meece accepted the generous donation, which will go toward the “Ride to Cure.”

The “Ride to Cure” is a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) event where riders from around the world take on the challenge of raising money needed to fund research for better treatments and a cure for diabetes. Officer Meece, in his off-time, participates in fund raising events to support the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

The Ripon Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS) would like to challenge local service organizations to meet or exceed their donation to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) “Ride to Cure.”

VIPS President Rich Searcy said, “We are proud to support the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in their efforts to find a cure. Officer Meece’s daughter Haley was our inspiration. We hope local service organizations will assist in the fight to cure diabetes.”
