Local Teen Donates Supplies to Assist Ripon Animal Shelter

Ripon Ca. – Last summer, Ripon High School student Shannon Wesley located a small stray dog. She and her family brought the dog to the Ripon animal shelter. Shannon was so impressed with the officer who assisted her and with staff at the shelter that she decided she wanted to help. Shannon created “Cause for Paws” a donation-drive to assist animals and staff at the Ripon shelter. Assisted by her mother, Danelle, and her former 8th grade teacher, Mrs Beam at Colony Oak School; Shannon created donation boxes and they quickly filled up. Local families donated items that included towels, pet toys, pet shampoos, and pet beds. On 01-12-15, Shannon presented donated supplies to the grateful staff at the Ripon animal shelter.
