Gas Station Contact Leads to Kilo Meth Arrest

Ripon, CA – A routine check at a local gas station Saturday night in Ripon led to the arrest of a Salinas man for felony methamphetamine possession charges.

On 06-06-15, at approximately 7:30 pm, Ripon Police Officer Raul Hernandez made contact with the driver of a red Ford pickup at the Shell gas station. The driver appeared to be working on the vehicle ignition.

Ripon officers observed contraband in the vehicle and a search was conducted. During a search 2.2 lbs (1 Kilo) of suspected methamphetamine was located in a computer bag. The methamphetamine had an estimated per-gram street value of over $60,000. Forged checks, a printer, scanner, laptop computer and hundreds of blank checks were seized for investigation.

Richard SanAugustin Reyes II (37) of Salinas, was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on charges that included possession of a controlled substance for sale; transportation of a controlled substance; forgery; possession of forged notes and possession of forged checks.
