Ripon Detectives received intelligence from the Sacramento Valley, High Tech Crimes Task Force, that child pornographic images had been accessed and downloaded in Ripon.  Ripon detectives immediately initiated an investigation.  <more>

Officer Danny Sauer honored by the Mothers Against Drunk Driving organization.

Hundreds of local Law Enforcement dignitaries and officers were in attendance to pay tribute to 93 Law Enforcement professionals, for their contribution to stopping the crime of driving while under the influence.

Ripon Police Department, Field Training Officer Danny Sauer, received special recognition from the Mothers Against Drunk Driving, and the California Office of Traffic Safety for his efforts in combating DUI crimes in Ripon.

Juvenile Bicycle Theft Ring Identified

Officer Stephen Meece was dispatched to the 1700 block of Judy Dr. regarding a bicycle theft.  The thieves reportedly stole a bicycle from a residential garage that had been left open.  The stolen bicycle was valued at over $350.  Ripon Officers canvassed the area, to search for witnesses to the crime.  Suspect information was developed.  Officer Meece proceeded to interview multiple subjects, in an attempt to determine who stole the bicycle.  <more>

Hit and Run Driver Arrested for DUI

At approximately 1:45 p.m., an alert Ripon resident called 911 to report a possible hit and run collision on Doak Blvd. near Ruess Rd.  The suspect vehicle was reportedly a silver BMW, that was observed driving away from the scene on its axle.  Ripon officers immediately responded to the area, and began searching for the vehicle. <more>
