Ripon's climate is hot and dry in the summer and cool in the winter. Usually, the weather is moderate with an average summer temperature of 80° and an average winter temperature of 45°.The temperature extremes range from about 110° to 26°.

Freezing temperatures are uncommon; however, fog can be a serious problem during especially wet winters.

Most of the rainfall comes between October and March. Ripon's average annual rainfall is 13 inches per year.
