Twin Towers

On September 11, 2002, The Ripon Fire and Police Association members, and citizens of the community participated in a 9-1-1 memorial event held at the Ripon Community Center.

 Pipers from the Stanislaus County  Sheriff's Department led the memorial procession, followed by members of the Fire and Police Department Honor Guards,  emergency equipment from both departments, and members of the community.

The members of  Ripon High School JROTC presented colors at the beginning of the ceremony.   The invocation was given by Pastor Chuck Roots.

 During the candle light ceremony, Pastor Roots, and the Pastor of the Zion Church, Alrick Headley (right) gave a message of Faith.  Mayor Dan Prince (left) was a distinguished guest speaker.

A moving auido/visual presentation on the events of 9-1-1 was given by RFD Greg Bauman & Marty Corneilson.  Center Photo -  Chief Bull (center), his wife and volunteers of RFD and RPD look on.  Jillian Morrill (left of right photo) sang "Wind Beneath My Wings"   JROTC member, Stephanie O'Brien was also a guest speaker. The Ringing of the Bell Ceremony was conducted by the Ripon Fire and Police Honor Guards.  At the closing the ceremony "Amazing Grace" was played by the Stanislaus Sheriff's  Pipers.
