Explorer Program

explorers1aThe Ripon Police Department, in conjunction with The Boy Scouts of America, provides an opportunity for young men and women to experience, first hand, how a police department functions. Explorers are trained in various aspects of law enforcement and used to assist police personnel. The Explorers are required to volunteer 16 hours a month, along with three major functions in the City of Ripon; Almond Blossom Festival, Fourth of July, National Night Out, and Main Street Day.
Requirements:

  • 14 to 21 years of age
  • Parental or guardian approval
  • Maintain “C” average while in school
  • Have no, negative contact with any police department
  • Have good moral habits
